Dr. Carol Flexer received her doctorate in audiology from Kent State University in 1982 and has devoted her career to promoting the reality that "Hearing is all about the Brain." She was at The University of Akron for 25 years as a Distinguished Professor of Audiology in the School of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. An international lecturer and consultant in pediatric and educational audiology and author of more than 155 publications including 17 books, Dr. Flexer is a past president of the Educational Audiology Association, the American Academy of Audiology, and the AG Bell Academy for Listening and Spoken Language. Dr. Flexer is a Certified Auditory-Verbal Therapist (LSLS Cert. AVT) and a licensed audiologist. Dr. Flexer’s talks, seminars, and workshops focus on the development and expansion of listening, speaking, and literacy skills in infants and children, including those with all degrees of hearing loss.
