Katelyn "Katie" Berg, AuD, PhD, CCC-A, is an Assistant Professor in Otolaryngology at Washington University in St. Louis. Her research focuses on optimizing cochlear implant outcomes, with a particular focus on understanding the relationship between electrode placement, channel interaction, and patient outcomes. Her research has been supported by the NIH, including an F32 fellowship to examine ways to optimize music perception in adult cochlear implant users. Most recently, Dr. Berg has developed expertise in improving cochlear implant sound quality outcomes using both quantitative and qualitative approaches, work that is supported by the American Otological Society. She has published over 25 peer-reviewed papers in leading journals and regularly presents her work at national and international conferences. Her work has been recognized with prestigious awards, including the ASHFoundation New Century Scholars Award and the Vanderbilt Hearing & Speech Sciences Young Investigator Award. In addition to her research, Dr. Berg frequently guest lectures at multiple universities and supervises both clinical and research trainees.
