Katelyn "Katie" Berg, AuD, PhD, CCC-A, is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Audiologist on the cochlear implant team at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she specializes in working with musicians. Her research focuses on optimizing cochlear implant outcomes, with a particular focus on understanding the relationship between electrode placement, channel interaction, and patient outcomes. Her research has been supported by the NIH, including an F32 fellowship to examine ways to optimize music perception in adult cochlear implant users. Most recently, Dr. Berg has developed expertise in improving cochlear implant sound quality outcomes using both quantitative and qualitative approaches. She has published nearly 20 peer-reviewed papers in leading journals and regularly presents her work at national and international conferences. Her work has been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the ASHFoundation New Century Scholars Award and the Vanderbilt Hearing & Speech Sciences Young Investigator Award. In addition to her research, Dr. Berg frequently guest lectures at multiple universities and supervises both clinical and research trainees.
